I've been thinking a lot about Chris' photography. He was so good and I hate to think of his images just languishing in the digital files on my computer. I am trying to think of ways to keep his work out there in the public eye. It certainly deserves to be seen.
To that end, I am contemplating making his images available for download from some sort of online shop. For that, I am sure I will have to purchase some photo software to make sure the images will download with sharp enough resolution for the buyer to be able to choose how to print it. And I need to be sure I have Chris' watermark and copyright stamp on the images as well.
As I was going through his work, I came across some beauties that remind me of our road trips. This first one is a gorgeous shot he got of Loch Tay. We always enjoyed driving along the loch. Such amazingly beautiful countryside.
I also found this stunning sepia shot of the Kylesku bridge. Whenever we traveled way up north, we would take the road up to the far north coast. This is an amazing sight and we would always stop to enjoy the breath-taking view.
These two photos bear different watermarks because, for a period of time, Chris used the professional brand of Aramak Imagery (camera in German backwards). It was a good brand name, but I was glad when he switched to Chris Mawson Photography. He needed to have his name right there.
I also discovered some photos from our 2007 holiday to Virginia, NYC, and Boston. I am hoping to find more when I am able to get someone to save the photos off a failed hard drive. My daughter told me my former son-in-law was able to get data off another hard drive, so I am hopeful that I will find more of Chris' lovely images there. Here is one of the images I found from that trip. He loved the Chrysler Building and caught this iconic image.
I also found this wonderful shot of the Manhattan Bridge taken from the Brooklyn Bridge. He took a wonderful picture of the Brooklyn Bridge, and I hope to find it amongst the saved data.
This will be my project over the winter, to get all the images properly sized and watermarked. All the profits from the sale of the images will be divided between the Highland Hospice and Charleston Farmhouse Trust. I know this is what Chris would want. I won't let his art disappear. He was just too talented and his images are just too lovely. \
My project up until Christmas, of course, is to finally get this apartment exactly as I want it. I've chosen the paint colours for the living room and kitchen. Still trying to find the right colour for the bedroom. I have a gentleman coming by this Friday to look at the painting and plastering jobs that will need to be done. (Plastering will need to be done after the electrician has come in and changed the lighting in the bedroom and living room.)
All systems go!
